Description

Erg Chigaga desert tour experience start from Marrakech by a private 4x4, you will explore during your Chigaga desert excursion, one of two major Ergs of the Sahara desert in Morocco Erg Chigaga (or Chegaga). This 4 days sahara desert trip make you live a unique experience in a private and authentic camp, placed in the impressive desert of Erg Chigaga. you will cross the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N'Tichka Pass (2,260 m), where the views are breathtaking. You will stop at Ait Ben Haddou to discover an amazing Kasbah. After lunch, you will continue towards Ouarzazate to visit Taourirt Kasbah and movie studios. Through the village of Agdz and the famous Deraa Valley, you will reach Tamnougalt which has one of the oldest Kasbahs in Morocco. Dinner and overnight in a typical Riad.

After a good breakfast on the terrace of the Riad, enjoy a walk in the oasis and the valley of Deraa. You will continue your tour through the city of Zagora and Tamegroute (famous for the production of handmade pottery) to reach M'Hamid, the outpost of the desert. Then, continue through the Sahara by jeep to the oasis of Iriki. Lunch on site before continuing to the dunes of Erg Chegaga. An incredible series of golden dunes extend over 40 km and reach a maximum height of 300 meters. Admire the sunset over the dunes and enjoy the typical nomadic hospitality. Dinner and overnight at the camp. Early in the morning, admire the golden rays of the sun on the sand dunes and have lunch on site before going on a camel trek to Erg Chigaga dunes. After few hours, you will reach a famous tamarind where you will rest in the shade and watch your nomadic guide preparing a fresh lunch cooked in a traditional way. After lunch, return to your camp to contemplate a breathtaking sunset. Dinner and overnight in a Berber tent.

After breakfast, you will continue your trip by jeep along the old track of the Rally Paris-Dakar, towards the dried up salt lake of Iriki. You will pass under the fossil mountain and finally leave the desert to reach Taznakht, a famous carpet manufacturing center. You will stop for lunch before returning to Marrakech.
